New Delhi: Vistara, a full-service carrier owned by the Tata Group and Singapore Airlines, has announced that it will waive off the change cost for one-time rescheduling on all direct bookings with travel till March 31.
"In light of volatility, we are keeping a careful eye on things and adjusting capacity to meet demand." We are waiving the change cost for one-time rescheduling on all direct tickets with travel until March 31, with the goal of reducing customer disruption," an airline representative stated. "We are also assisting the impacted customers with rescheduling, refunds, and other, as applicable," the representative added. We've also instructed and enabled our travel agency partners to provide assistance to customers as needed."
The airline also stated that they predict a little increase in traffic in February compared to January, following a dramatic drop in air travel due to the increase in COVID-19 cases and state government restrictions. The airline also stated that it will continue to closely monitor the coronavirus situation and that passenger capacity will be adjusted in response to demand.
Vistara's response came after a number of consumers reported that their flights had been cancelled or rescheduled without warning. Users also complained that getting in touch with Vistara's customer service was difficult. Shibashish Prusty, an ISRO scientist, said his trip from New Delhi to Bhubaneshwar was cancelled, and he has been unable to contact the flight's customer service.
