One after the other, five-time world champion Viswanathan Anand scored a point in the 11th round of the Tata Steel Masters by defeating youngster Alireza Feroza. After this round, Anand has reached a joint sixth place in the table with 5.5 points.

Anand, playing black pieces, forced the 16-year-old teenager to give up after 47 moves. There is still two rounds of play left in the tournament and Fabiano Karuana of America strengthened his position at the top by defeating Belarus' Vladislav Kovalev. Karuana, on the other hand, has eight digits. He is one point ahead of current world champion Magnus Carlson of Norway.

For your information, let us tell you that Wesley Soo of America is third with 6.5 points. In the Challenger category, India's Surya Shekhar Ganguly is joint fourth with 6.5 points while Nihal Sarin is joint seventh with 5.5 points.
