Kashmir Files is one of the most loved movies of the year. It is directed by Vivek Agnihotri. The film became a blockbuster hit at the box office. Made with a budget of about 15 crores, this film earned 340 crores only from cinemas. The film earned a whopping amount only by mouth publicity but the film does not get Filmfare awards.
Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh received two awards and he wrote, “Delighted to be felicitated with two honours - ‘Actor of the Decade’ and ‘Best Actor of the Year’ for my work in 83! Thank you @lionsclubs for always validating my work. #LionsGoldAwards @lionrajuvm.”
Now its looks like Kashmir Files Director Vivek Agnihotri slammed Ranveer Singh. He wrote, “I was shocked to know how the Bollywood awards mafia works. For example, this year one colourful star managed to get all 10+ awards despite both of his films being disasters and rejected by audience. This shows how corrupt and ‘for sale’ is the awards mafia. But Bollywood is silent.” He also replied to his own tweet asking everyone, “Please comment and share your views on Bollywood’s corrupt awards mafia.”
As soon as it catches people's eyes, they started commenting on it. A person wrote, “I know Bollywood awards are just mockery and Ranveer Singh does not deserve best actor award. Vicky Kaushal deserved it for Sadar Udham, but what has box office performance of a movie got to do with best actor award. Someone may give a good performance in a flop movie.”
Speaking of Kashmir Files was made on a budget of ₹15 crore and ended up grossing over ₹350 crore worldwide, largely due to strong word of mouth. The film, directed by Pallavi’s husband Vivek Agnihotri, dealt with the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley over 30 years ago. The film beat out several big releases like Ranbir Kapoor’s Shams Hera, Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, and Akshay Kumar’s Samrat Prithviraj in the box office race.
