Aditya Alva has been taken into custody at CBI in Bengaluru in the Sandalwood drugs case. The police arrested him from Chennai, who was running out for a long time. Aditya Alva is the son of former Karnataka minister Jivaraj Selva and his sister has been married to actor Vivek Oberoi. According to media reports, he is from an impressive family background. His late father, Jivraj Alva, was one of the most powerful ministers and leaders of his moment. He was called the right hand of the departed CM Ramakrishna Hegde.

According to reports, Jivraj Alva was known for the skill of collecting funding. Aditya's mother Nandini Alva is also counted among the eminent people of the state. She is a renowned dancer and event organizer. She is one of the founding members of Bengaluru Habba (Bengaluru Fest). The fest was launched in 1999-2004 between the then Chief Minister S. M. Krishna's tenure.

Aditya Alva is Vivek Oberoi's brother-in-law. Earlier, the CCB of Bengaluru City police also raided properties owned by Aditya Alva in sandalwood drug cases.  According to media reports, Aditya Alva had been running put since the police raided the house of Sandalwood star Ragini Dwivedi. It has been revealed that the police had also printed the Aditya resorts. He reportedly held parties here in which many film stars from the Kannada film industry participated. According to the Central Crime Bureau, Aditya has become the fifth accused in the case.
