Vivo Mobile India has received a partial occupancy certificate for a 62-acre land parcel in Noida’s Sector 24A from the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), marking a significant milestone for the authority. This development is among YEIDA's first major projects, covering a total built-up area of 160,000 square meters.

The company applied for this certificate in April, following an inspection by YEIDA in June. Vivo was initially allocated 169 acres of land in November 2018 to establish assembly and Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) lines. To date, Vivo has received 156 acres, with the remaining land yet to be delivered. At the time of allocation, the company was granted a 25% subsidy and a complete waiver of stamp duty.

The project is planned to unfold in two phases. In the first phase, Vivo aims to manufacture 60 million smartphones annually and create 22,000 jobs. Upon completion of the second phase, the production will double to 120 million smartphones per year, with an additional 16,000 jobs expected. The total investment for both phases is estimated at ₹6,690 crores.

YEIDA has set an ambitious goal to launch 200 companies in the township by December of this year. So far, it has approved layout plans for 91 companies, with eight already in production. Companies like Avery Dennison, Surya Global Flexi Films, and Bikanerwala are among those that have commenced manufacturing.

Out of the 200 planned companies, 136 will be located in the Toy Park and 81 in the Apparel Park, with construction underway for several of these businesses. The industrial expansion is projected to generate around 200,000 jobs in the city.
