Volkswagen India has announced that it will now provide six airbags as standard across all variants of its highly rated Taigun and Virtus models. This decision is part of the company's efforts to enhance safety features in its cars under the India 2.0 product portfolio.

The Taigun, a subcompact crossover SUV, was first launched in September 2021, while the Virtus, a mid-sized sedan, followed in March 2022. Both models have received a 5-Star Global NCAP (GNCAP) safety rating.

"We are continuously expanding our variant line-up to meet the growing demand from customers in India," said a spokesperson from Volkswagen India. "With the introduction of six airbags as standard across our India 2.0 cars, we are demonstrating our commitment to safer mobility."

The company also celebrated achieving a significant milestone of over 1 lakh sales for the Taigun and Virtus models since their launch.

The Taigun is available with a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine, while the GT Plus Sport variant offers a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol option.

Volkswagen India continues to prioritize safety and aims to provide customers with a range of choices that meet their preferences and requirements.
