Volkswagen plans to introduce more exterior colour options for the Taigun, it is premium compact SUV, in the near future in an effort to increase sales. This week, the Taigun will have a new exterior colour choice, according to the German automotive giant. Beginning on September 8, Taigun will also be offered in blue. The Volkswagen Taigun is now available in five different colour schemes: Curcuma Yellow, Wild Cherry Red, Candy White, Reflex Silver, and Carbon Steel Gray.
Volkswagen India announced the upgrade for the Taigun on social media. With an image of the SUV in a vivid blue tone, the post stated, "Introducing a vibrant new colour." If the SUV will receive any other modifications outside the exterior colour, the automaker has not disclosed them.
With the release of the Taigun SUV last year, Volkswagen joined the Indian compact SUV market. This month, it will have been on the Indian market for a whole year. Volkswagen's wager to compete with market leaders like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos is the Taigun SUV. The SUV's starting price is Rs. 11.40 lakh (ex-showroom), and the top-of-the-line GT Plus 1.5-litre TSI EVO DSG models cost Rs. 18.60 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Taigun was constructed on the same MQB A0 IN platform as its Kushaq technical cousin from Skoda Auto India. There are two TSI petrol engine options for the Taigun. There is a 1.5-litre engine and a 1.0-litre unit. The former is coupled to both a six-speed manual and automated gearbox. The more powerful engine comes with both a manual and DSG automatic transmission.
The Volkswagen Taigun is a fully equipped vehicle with cutting-edge technologies. The SUV boasts an eight-inch digital cockpit and a 10.1-inch touchscreen entertainment system. There are six speakers throughout the car, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto feature wireless app connection. Among the other standout features are a sunroof and wireless smartphone charging voice-command recognition, among others.
