Lucknow: Voting has started on Tuesday for seven assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh. Voting will be from 7 am to 6 pm. 24.27 lakh voters will decide the fate of a total of 88 candidates for these seven seats. According to information received from the Election Officer's Office, 1,754 polling centres and 3,655 polling stations have been set up for voting.
Adequate paramilitary forces have been deployed so that there is no disturbance during voting. Webcasting of 371 booths is being done to monitor the critical booths. Voting is being held in Uttar Pradesh's Naugawan Sadat in Amroha, Bulandshahar Sadar in Bulandshahar, Tundla in Firozabad, Bangarmau in Unnao, Ghatampur in Kanpur, Deoria in Deoria and Malhani in Jaunpur. There are nine women in the 88 candidates in the fray. Adequate arrangements have been made for thermal scanners, sanitizers, gloves, face masks, face shields, PPE kits, soap, water etc. to protect polling personnel and voters from Corona.
Along with this, there is a sufficient amount of police force for peaceful voting. In the election process, there are 7 general observers, 7 expenditure sectors, 301 sectors, magistrates, 46 zonal magistrates, 76 static magistrates and 333 micro observers.
