Voting for the second phase of the Gujarat Assembly Polls 2017 started at 8 am on Thursday. The campaign for this term polls saw a neck to neck battle between the Congress and the BJP. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed assurance over succeed and laid blame on the opposition of spreading lies about the development of Gujarat.  Conversely, Rahul Gandhi said there was remarkable hint against the ruling BJP in Gujarat and expected a win for his party. Rahul claimed that the public frame of mind had undergone a deep-seated change and promised a "zabardast" result. A total of 851 candidates are in the battleground of Polls for 93 seats extend across 14 districts in north and central Gujarat, in the final phase of the elections, where 2.22 crore people are adequate to exercise their franchise.

The security has been enlarged in different parts of the state in the wake of the elections.

The Bhartiya Janata Party has placed 93 candidates for this phase, while Congress has brought only 91.

 The First phase of the Gujarat Assembly Polls 2017 saw voter turnout 68 per cent.

In the interim, re- election will be conducted tomorrow in two booths of Jamjodhpur constituency, two booths in Una, one in Nijjar, and one in Umargam.

The consequences will be announced on December 18.
