In line with the guidelines provided by the Election Commission of India, the Indore district is taking proactive steps to ensure that citizens aged 80 and above, as well as those with disabilities, can exercise their voting rights from the comfort of their homes. The district has initiated a robust process for remote voting, and this initiative is set to continue until November 9.

Empowering Elderly and Disabled Voters

On the first day of this initiative, 1884 elderly and disabled voters in the district embraced their right to vote remotely. The entire voting process is being conducted with the utmost confidentiality and security. Video recordings of the voting process are being maintained to ensure transparency and safeguard the integrity of the election.

How Voting is Taking Place

The voting teams received their voting materials from the collector's office in the morning. After voting, these materials are returned to the collector's office. The sealed envelopes containing the ballot papers are securely stored in the district treasury. Returning officers are actively providing information to the candidates and enabling them to appoint their representatives, including B.L.O. (Booth Level Officer), to observe the process.

Providing Information Continuously

Electorates are continuously informed of the date and time of voting through the Booth Level Officers. Political parties or candidates and their authorized representatives are also allowed to be present during the remote voting process. The initiative to facilitate remote voting for elderly and disabled voters began on November 6. It's worth noting that in Indore district, 4,666 elderly and disabled voters have opted for remote voting. In conclusion, Indore district is making significant strides in adhering to the Election Commission of India's guidelines by ensuring that those aged 80 and above, as well as citizens with disabilities, can conveniently cast their votes from their homes.
