Jagreb: The first phase of voting in the Croatian presidential election began on Sunday, in which a triangular contest is expected. According to the report of the news agency Effe, about 38 lakh people are eligible to exercise their franchise at 6,500 authorized polling stations. Voting began at 7 am local time and will run at 7 pm.

About 1,77,000 of the voters live abroad and half in Bosnia, where ethnic Croats can exercise their franchise in Croatia as well.
