Brasilia: A gangster in Brazil killed four rideshare drivers in a fit of rage. According to the media report, his sick mother's Uber ride was cancelled. According to reports, drivers working for Uber and Brazilian transit company 99 were first tortured in Salvador City on 13 December and later murdered in the back of a hut.

The fifth driver managed to escape from there and later informed the police about this. Media outlets quoted Bahia Governor Rui Costa as saying, "The gangster ordered the killing of these people because his mother had called an Uber car, but the car did not arrive."
