New Delhi: Rahul Dravid would be replaced as head coach of the India National Cricket Team for the upcoming tour of Ireland by legendary batter VVS Laxman, according reports . Additionally, KL Rahul, a legendary hitter, will not compete in the 2023 Asia Cup.

The short T20I series will consist of three matches, and Team India will tour Ireland. The games are slated to take place on August 18, 20, and 23 at the Malahide in Dublin.

According to reports, the coaching group under Rahul Dravid, which includes fielding coach T Dilip, bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, and batting coach Vikram Rathour, will take a break for the Ireland tour.

The decision to rest the coaching staff was made with the hectic calendar in mind, which includes the mega-events of the Asia Cup 2023, Asian Games 2023, and World Cup 2023.

VVS Laxman, the director of the National Cricket Academy, will lead India's coaching team on the Ireland tour, and they will work alongside him. He will be the team's batting and bowling coaches, chosen from Troy Cooley and Sairaj Bahutule for bowling and Sitanshu Kotak and Hrishikesh Kanitkar for batting, respectively.

Notably, VVS Laxman led India's visit of Ireland last year as well. Hardik Pandya will serve as the Indian team's captain throughout the T20I series, similar to last year.

Jasprit Bumrah is anticipated to make a sensational comeback in the forthcoming T20I series against Ireland, according to the same sources . According to reports, he has resumed bowling aggressively in the nets and is close to recovering his previous level of fitness.

Additionally, some reports had indicated that middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer might also play in the Ireland T20Is, however the most recent reports indicate that his availability is still in doubt.

The Asia Cup 2023 will not feature ace batter KL Rahul, who has long been a member of India's leadership team.

While playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rahul sustained a thigh injury. Because of his terrible injury, he was unable to participate in the ICC World Test Championship Final and the full IPL season.

KL Rahul is now receiving rehabilitation at the NCA after a successful operation on his right thigh. He has yet to bat and will probably not play in the 2023 Asia Cup.

The Asia Cup 2023 will be held in a hybrid format, with Pakistan hosting 4 games and Sri Lanka hosting 9 games. The major competition is scheduled to take place between August 31 and September 17.
