The administration is considering using the Wankhede Stadium as a quarantine center for coronavirus patients to deal with the growing outbreak of the covid-19 epidemic in Mumbai. Officials said the Brihanmumbai Metropolitan Municipality (BMC) wants a comprehensive quarantine center near the National Sports Club of India in Mahalaxmi.
For this, the BMC has written a letter to the Mumbai Cricket Association so that it can use the stadium as an emergency for the BMC staff's A ward and its corona patients.
BMC A Ward Assistant Commissioner Chanda Jadhav has also started talks with MCA in this matter. The Wankhede Stadium houses the Man Stadium, BCCI Office, MCA Office, MCA Lounge and Garware Club House. In order to control the covid-19 epidemic, MCA has decided to extend all support to the BCA.
