Amid corona second wave, Warangal and Khammam election date notified. Yes, On Thursday, the Telangana State Election Commission issuing a notification on Thursday for elections to Warangal and Khammam Municipal Corporations besides five municipalities. Polling will be held on April 30 and counting of votes will be taken up on May 3, with all results expected the same day.
Here it is to be noted that the five municipalities going to the polls are — Achampet, Siddipet, Nakrekal, Jadcherla and Kothur. Besides the ULBs, the SEC also issued notification for nine casual vacancies, including Lingojiguda division in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits.
In total, elections will be held for 248 wards in the seven ULBs. Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation has 66 wards, Khammam Municipal Corporation (60), Atchampet municipality (20), Siddipet municipality (43), Nakrekal municipality (20), Jadcherla municipality (27) and Kothur municipality (12). As per the schedule, the Returning Officer will issue election notice duly mentioning the reservation of wards on Friday.
However, here it is must needed to share that the final list of contesting candidates will be published on April 22 and polling will be held from 7 am to 5 pm on April 30. Repoll, if required, will be held on May 2, and counting of votes will take place on May 3.
