New Delhi: The Indian Navy has successfully tested the powerful 'Sea Skimming' missile from its new indigenous warship INS Mormugao. The missile was successful in hitting the target within the stipulated time. Let us tell you that Mormugao was inducted into the Indian Navy in December 2022. This warship has been equipped with state-of-the-art sensors and radar, so that the enemy cannot escape from its sight during the operation.

According to media reports, after the successful test of BrahMos missile from the warship, the Indian Navy issued a statement calling it a great success. The Navy said that the missile fired from Mormugao successfully hit the supersonic target floating on the surface of the sea. He further said that this first attempt shows the Indian Navy's future proof combat readiness and commitment towards self-reliant India.

Let us tell you that Mormugao is named after the historical port city of Goa. It was inducted into the Navy on 19 December 2021. The day of December 19 is considered very important for Goa. 60 years ago, on this day, Goa was freed from Portuguese rule. 75 percent of the Mormugao has been manufactured in India, while 25 percent has been manufactured in another country.
