The global cryptocurrency market capitalisation fell 7.36 percent to USD1.68 trillion on May 6, putting major cryptocurrencies in the red. Over the last 24 hours, the overall crypto market volume increased 14.63 percent to USD115.21 billion.

DeFi's overall volume was USD11.49 billion, accounting for 9.97 percent of the total crypto market's 24-hour volume, while the total volume of all stable coins was USD100.37 billion.

According to CoinMarketCap data, Bitcoin's dominance declined by 0.38 percent to 41.43 percent over the day. The world's most valuable cryptocurrency was trading at Rs 29,56,410.  Coinbase (COIN), a cryptocurrency exchange, said on May 4 that the beta version of its non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace is now open to the public.

Ether, the second largest cryptocurrency and the coin tied to the Ethereum network, fell more than 7% to USD2,738. Meanwhile, the price of dogecoin was down about 6% to USD0.12 today, and the price of Shiba Inu was down over 7% to USD0.020.

The exchange presented the marketplace to a select number of invited consumers at the end of April, some seven months after announcing its launch in October 2021. The marketplace was only available to a select few from a 1.5 million-strong waiting list.
