New Delhi: With the scorching heat in the capital of the country, now the water crisis has also started deepening. Actually, there has been a huge reduction in the flow of water in the Yamuna river. Due to this the water level in Wazirabad is depleting very fast. In such a situation, the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has written a letter to the Haryana Irrigation Department and appealed to release more water. So that this crisis can be dealt with by increasing the depleting water level in Wazirabad.

Let us inform that earlier in April also, Delhi Jal Board had written a similar letter to Haryana and demanded release of water. Delhi Jal Board has said in its letter that the water level of Yamuna in Wazirabad has come down to 672.6 feet. This is 2 feet less than the normal water level of 674.5 feet. The letter further states that CLC (Carried Lined Channel) and DSB (Delhi Sub-Branch) bringing river water from Haryana to Delhi are also witnessing fluctuations. The CLC contains 563 cusecs of water as against the normal 683 cusecs. This is affecting the production of water.

The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has requested Haryana to release an additional 150 cusecs of water, so that the water crisis can be tackled. Not only this, the Delhi Jal Board has demanded that this extra water should be released till the monsoon, until the excess water starts coming due to rains in Yamuna.
