Burn scars can be large or small depending on how much of the skin is damaged. The severity of the burn will determine whether these scars will fade or remain permanently visible. It can occur when a person’s skin touches something too hot, gets scalded with boiling water, is overexposed to sunlight or electricity.
Scars, which are areas of thick, discolored skin, often develop after damaged skin causes cells to die. The body produces a protein called collagen to repair the damaged skin, which leads to a scar. Some burn scars heal by themselves while some need to be treated. The following are easy ways to get rid of these scars.
Coconut oil: Coconut oil if made a part of your daily regimen can heal or help fade away acne scars as coconut oil is rich in omega fatty acids that penetrate and moisturize the skin so it can restore your skin’s glow.
Aloe vera: Aloe vera acts as a natural healing agent. You can use this to treat your burn marks. Massage the gel on the skin and let it stay for 20-40 minutes. After this, wash off with water. You can even use coconut oil and aloe vera gel together to remove burn marks.
Medicated creams: Depending on the type of scar you have, a doctor may be able to prescribe a cream. Some prescription-only creams may be more effective than what you buy over the counter. These products often contain high-strength components which help to decrease itching and swelling.
Laser therapy: If the scar is very big you can also opt for laser therapy, laser therapy targets blood vessels that can reduce the appearance of a scar. While it can’t eliminate the scar completely, the pulses of light can make the scar flatter, reduce redness, and lessen pain and itchiness.
Honey: Honey is used for numerous medicinal purposes, including burns, wounds, and herpes. Its natural moisturizing effects and stimulation of tissue regeneration make it a popular ingredient to mix into your skincare routine.
Egg whites: Egg white is a superfood for the skin- rich in amino acids and protein. When applied to burn marks, it will not only lighten the stretch marks but will also cause skin tightening. Egg white is a useful remedy that helps to repair damaged tissues and shrink pores. It also works to remove impurities and excess oil from your skin, preventing breakouts of spots.
