MADRID: Queen Letizia of Spain and South Korean First Lady Kim Keon-hee discussed their shared ages and the superiority of South Korean beauty products over a gala dinner in Madrid the previous day, the presidential office said Wednesday.
According to reports, Kim will be visiting the Spanish capital with President Yoon Suk-yeol to attend the NATO conference. The pair were invited by King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain to supper on Tuesday at the Royal Palace in Madrid.
In his conversation with the queen, Kim noted that they were both the same age and said that in South Korea, people their own age tend to gravitate toward one another.
The first lady responded that she was also born in September, on the second, when Queen Letizia enquired about Kim's age after noting that she will turn 50 in September. The president's office reported that the queen expressed joy and mentioned that she was born on the fifteenth.
The first lady informed the queen that she was a "fashion celebrity" in South Korea. The cosmetics and K-beauty industries in South Korea are excellent. The queen recalled that when she had visited South Korea three years earlier, she had been astounded by the beauty of the women there and had consequently bought a lot of cosmetics there.
