Bangalore: The counting of votes for the Karnataka Assembly elections is underway. At the same time, Janata Dal Secular (JDS) chief and former CM HD Kumaraswamy has given a big statement on Saturday (May 13) regarding the alliance even before the final results are out. Kumaraswamy said that so far no party has approached him to form the government in the event of a hung assembly.

According to the report, Kumaraswamy said, 'Everything will become clear in the next 2-3 hours. Exit polls are telling that the score of two national parties (BJP-Congress) is going to be big. JDS is said to get 30-32 seats in the Exile poll. I am a small party and I do not have any demand. I am hoping that there is good development of the state.' Kumaraswamy may be saying today that he has no demand, but till yesterday his tone was different. Kumaraswamy was saying till yesterday i.e. before May 12 that he will support whichever party accepts his condition. Kumaraswamy had said that his condition is that he should be made the CM of the state.

The main contest in the Karnataka assembly elections is between the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress. Kumaraswamy's JDS is after these two. In fact, Kumaraswamy hoped that he could become the kingmaker in the event of a hung assembly. However, he changed his stand as soon as the counting of votes began. At the same time, before the Karnataka election results, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai offered prayers at the Hanuman temple and claimed that the BJP government would continue in the state. He claimed that the BJP is going to form the government with absolute majority. On the other hand, the Congress is seen to form the government after leaving the BJP in the trends.

Let us inform that 2,615 candidates are trying their luck for the total 224 seats in the state. To form the government, it is necessary to reach the magic figure of majority 113. In which party the command of the state will go, the decisive decision will come by this evening. The major parties in the Karnataka elections are the BJP, the Congress and the Janata Dal Secular (JDS).
