TDP MPs who quit their resignation to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday evening addressed a press conference soon after.

YS Choudhary told the media that he and Ashok Gajapathy Raju, another TDP MP, will continue to be a part of the NDA alliance as members of parliament but will refrain from taking up any kind of ministerial positions. He said it is unfair for the Prime Minister to deal with special category status issue and concerned ministries should have taken care of this issue. He also expressed concern over the time already wasted on the issue which is yet unconcluded.

Telegu Desam Party Member of Parliament YS Choudhary and TDP MP and Aviation minister Ashok Gajapathy Raju had submitted their resignation letters to PM Modi after the latter had spoken to Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu regarding the Andhra Pradesh Special Category Status row.

“When they are in responsible positions they will have to balance such things and during the process of balancing they will have to face such situations,” said Choudhary. He further said that it was BJP’s responsibility to make everyone happy and this unanimity is the beauty of democracy.

YS Choudhary said he was hopeful that the struggle will come to fruition and Andhra Pradesh will get special category status. On being asked about a possibility of an alliance between the BJP and YSRCP alliance, he said it is a matter between the two parties so they should be questioned regarding it.
