Moe Kyaw Aung, Myanmar Ambassador to India has said the country maintains good neighborliness and won't allow any insurgents to use its territory against India. Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla and Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane made a visit to Myanmar in the first week of October, amid the pandemic outbreak. The Indian government and the Myanmar both are very much serious about bilateral co-operation. He said through its foreign policy which is based on 5 principles of peaceful coexistence maintains good relations with countries and is strongly supporting India and China in the efforts to relive of the tensions in the border.
India and Myanmar enhance their terms looking forward to the development
The ambassador has told that Myanmar won't allow any insurgents to use its border against India. On the connectivity line, northeast India can be connected to Myanmar via Kaladan river in Myanmar and provides easy access to bay of Bengal. Northeast India to the Indian Ocean via Bay of Bengal is made easy with the agreements with Myanmar. Apart from this, the distance between Kolkata and Sittwe ports was less than 500 nautical miles and on coastal line it paves way for effective and cheap transportation of good. These routes facilitates export and import better way reducing time and cost.

Myanmar Ambassador recalls the incident when the Myanmar government has handed over 22 insurgents to India after a security operation illustrating the country won't allow any insurgents to use its border against India. To be noted, Act East Policy and Neighbourhood First Policy of India and good neighborliness policy of Myanmar greatly contributed to good bilateral relations between India and Myanmar.
