Strong dust storms to continue for next two days in the state

Amritsar: The weather is going to change in Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana. In Punjab, rain is likely to occur in several districts over the next two days with dust storm. The Met department has issued an alert for high speed thunderstorms. In Haryana, pre-monsoon activities are likely to continue for six consecutive days from Sunday. According to the Met department, the direction of  cyclone vayu has changed.

According to the information, the Cyclone, which is headed for Oman, will hit the Kutch border back in the next 36 hours. The impact will also be felt in the districts of Punjab. Half a dozen districts of the state are likely to face thunderstorms at a speed of 50-60 kmph. The Met Department has predicted change in weather and light rain till 19th June due to western disturbances in Haryana.

At the same time, the department has issued a dust storm warning at a speed of 30-40 kmph in different parts of the state from 16th to 19th June. According to the Met department, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi region have received 87 per cent less rainfall so far this month. According to the Meteorological Department of Haryana Agricultural University, the weather is likely to remain variable till June 19. Sirsa was the hottest place in the state on Saturday. The maximum temperature was recorded at 45 degree Celsius.
