Heat wave continues in Bihar, death toll crosses 100 due to heat wave

Patna: The heat wave has caused more than 143 deaths in two days, including 77 on Sunday and 66 on Saturday. In Aurangabad district, 33 people lost their lives on Sunday for the second day. The maximum number of deaths was 17 in Aurangabad Sadar Hospital. In Nevada, 12 in Patna, 11 in Gaya, 7 in Buxar and five in Ara were killed.

According to sources, Patna was the hottest place in the state on Sunday. The maximum temperature was 45 degrees, lower than 0.8 degrees celsius on Saturday. The maximum temperature in Gaya was 44.4, Bhagalpur 41, Muzaffarpur 42.6 degrees. On Sunday, a team from the Disaster Management Department visited Aurangabad, Nawada and Gaya. Hospitals were ordered to install coolers with AC and fans. In these districts, patients who were in a state of disrepair continued to reach the hospital for the day with a feeling of irritation.

At the same time, doctors in Aurangabad also looked helpless on Sunday. There was one death every half hour.  In Gaya, 34 people have died in two days due to heat wave. Due to heat wave and heat, schools in Aurangabad, Nawada and Patna have been ordered to be closed. The temperature in these cities was around 41 to 45 degrees Celsius on Sunday. In Patna city, the temperature crossed 45 degree Celsius.
