New Delhi: The Meteorological Department of the country has issued a warning of heavy rain in Delhi on 29 and 30 July. The stir in the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal has increased tension. Winds coming will affect entire Haryana, Delhi-NCR, West UP and North East Rajasthan. An alert for heavy rain has been issued in these areas.

Due to the situation in the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, heavy rainfall may occur in these areas. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rains at some places from the evening of 29 July to 30 July. There is a possibility of widespread rainfall during this period. Due to which a situation like a flood can occur. In an advisory, IMD said that heavy rains could cause waterlogging on low-lying areas and roads, which could affect traffic and disrupt services like water supply and electricity.

Dr Kuldeep Srivastava, senior meteorologist and head of the North Regional Forecasting Unit of the Meteorological Department (IMD), said that, at present, the monsoon turf is near the foothills of the Himalayas. It will start to shift south from Tuesday. From Tuesday evening to Thursday evening it will be near Delhi-NCR.
