Warning of heavy rains in Delhi-Mumbai, flood-like conditions in Gujarat

New Delhi: The monsoon is in full swing and heavy rains may occur in many states this week. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy to very heavy rainfall has been forecast in many parts of Maharashtra and Gujarat in the next 3 days. In view of this, the department has also issued an alert.

West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Sikkim, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and Meghalaya may receive good rains during the next 24 hours. Light rain is expected in parts of Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan. A day after 487 mm of rain fell in Khambhalia taluka of Gujarat's Devbhumi Dwarka district, heavy rain continued in various areas of the Saurashtra region on Monday, causing flood-like conditions in some areas.

Here NDRF has been deployed as a precaution in many areas. A 30-year-old bridge in Junagadh here collapsed due to rain. However, there is no news of any injury in it. Light to moderate rains has been recorded in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan. Temperature remained down in the national capital due to sporadic rains. More rainfall is expected in the national capital in the next few days.
