New Delhi: Most of the states of north India are facing dense fog amidst the severe cold. Dense to very dense fog has engulfed many areas from Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Bihar. However, there is light relief from dense fog today (Tuesday), January 10 compared to the previous day in the country's capital Delhi and NCR. While the effect of cold waves remains intact.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light rain and thundershowers in the next two days in several states including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana. Talking about today's weather, at around 5:30 am, a thick to very dense fog is engulfing Punjab, Bihar, Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh. Due to fog, many trains of Northern Railway are running late and flights are also affected. Flights from Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) to Kathmandu, Jaipur, Shimla, and Dehradun are delayed. 36 trains of Northern Railway are running late due to fog.  

According to the Meteorological Department, people of the national capital Delhi and northwest India will get some relief from the cold today, but light rains are expected to increase the cold again in the next two days. However, dense fog conditions may subside.
