It can further cause thunderstorms in Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Western Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan by today. There can be isolated hailstorms in South Haryana and Rajasthan. The Northeastern states may witness isolated thunderstorms by January 13.

Thunderstorms and moderate rainfall will occur in regions of Tamil Nadu, Kerela, Puducherry, Karaikanal and Mahe due to a cyclonic circulation in Southeast Bay of Bengal and its surrounding areas. Heavy rainfall might occur in Tamil Nadu on January 12.

If we talk about the overall country, the Southern and Central India will experience rainfall above average due to the cyclonic circulation in the Bay of Bengal, while the rest of India will have a below normal rain.

As of the coming days, no western disturbance is expected over Northwest India from January 16-22. There will be no major change in the temperature in the eastern part, it will be steady there.

Cold wave warnings have already been issued in states of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, parts of Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Dense fog in several areas, especially in the Indo-Gangetic plains will follow. The minimum temperatures can go down below normal in North peninsular, Central and Eastern India.

Delhi/NCR will observe a mix of weather with clear skies, light rain and fog in the next few days. The fluctuating wind conditions will influence the air quality and visibility levels.
