After the merger of Cartoon Network and Warner Bros. Animation was announced, the internet was flooded with posts saying "RIP Cartoon Network." Cartoon Network issued a statement on Saturday clarifying, "Y'all we're not dead, we're just turning 30," after many speculated that the network was closing its doors and the end of an era.

To our fans: We're not leaving you behind, they continued. Your source for adored, cutting-edge cartoons has always been and always will be us. Soon, there will be more. Tom and Jerry, Scooby Dooby Doo, Loony Toons, Power Puff Girls, Dexter's Laboratory, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Ed, Edd n Eddy, and Ben 10 are just a few of the well-known cartoons that can be found on Cartoon Network and are familiar to all children born in the 1990s.

According to ABC News, the Warner Bros. Television Group (WBTVG) announced that 125 positions across scripted, unscripted, and animated programming were eliminated, or about 26% of the workforce. The merger between Cartoon Network and Warner Bros., on the other hand, may have more consequences than they had anticipated, according to Channing Dungey, CEO of Warner Bros. Television.

Fans on Twitter who were anxious were somewhat relieved by the most recent update from Cartoon Network. One of them suggested, "Just don't bring woke sh*t, just bring something that's enjoyable for everyone; don't need to kill it with wholeness," in his or her message. Another person said, "Can you all please keep the old shows the kids gotta experience classic Cartoon Network for alot of times." Someone else added, "Of course they're keeping the old shows, but the newer shows that are being made for CN are not made for our generation and that's okay. Without making them watch our cherished vintage shows out of tradition, let's just let kids be kids.

Ted Turner created the original Cartoon Network. October 1st, 1992, saw its debut. It is among the first channels to air cartoons, and The Moxy Show was one of its first original series.
