Bengal has now finished with all the phases of election and tomorrow is the day of results, May 2. In view of the rising cases West Bengal government now decided to impose partial lockdown in the state with immediate effect until further orders.
The move was taken by Mamata Banerjee-led government just after state registered its highest single-day coronavirus-related deaths and cases. West Bengal witnessed 96 new fatalities on Friday besides 17,411 fresh cases. The total caseload has mounted to 828366, whereas the death toll stands at 11344. The partial lockdown in West Bengal has some restrictions over running activities of state. Markets will remain open during the partial lockdown from 7-10 am in the morning and 3-5 pm in the evening. Medical shops, medical equipment outlets, grocery stores, along with online services and home deliveries will be allowed to function.
Now here is a list about what is shut during partial lockdown:
*All shopping malls, salons, restaurants and bars will be shut during the partial lockdown in West Bengal.
*Sports complexes, gyms, spas and swimming pools will also be closed.
*All social and cultural gatherings will remain prohibited across the state.
*Academic, entertainment-related gatherings and congregations have also been banned in the state.
These measures if violated by anyone will be liable to be proceeded against as per the provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
Meanwhile, the administration will review the situation every day, and further steps would be taken depending on the evolving circumstances.
