Cyclone Amphan causes devastation in West Bengal, Governor released video

Kolkata: Super Cyclone Amphan has caused massive destruction in Odisha and many parts of West Bengal. Due to the storm 10 to 12 people have lost their lives in both the states. The central government is constantly monitoring the situation deteriorated by the storm. High level meeting is being held in Delhi to review the situation. West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar has shared a video from his Twitter handle.

In the video, the scene of destruction from Amphan can be seen clearly. Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar wrote the caption along with the video, 'I am distressed by the loss of life and property due to Amphan. I was constantly in touch with agencies for the last few days. Their commitment has reduced losses'. He further wrote that, 'It has left a trail of destruction behind itself. Worst in decades. Everybody needs to come forward for relief work on a large scale.'

Due to heavy rains and strong winds in West Bengal, trees have fallen from place to place. Many houses have collapsed in the storm, the place is full of water. Hurricane caused huge devastation in Kolkata. The secretariat has also been damaged. The state's CM Mamta Banerjee has requested the Central Government for assistance to deal with the cyclone.
