Kolkata: A West Bengal BJP MLA allegedly raised controversy with party workers saying that they should break the hands and feet of TMC leaders if they terrorise them and make false allegations against them. In a video circulating on social media, BJP MLA Swapna Majumdar also promised to stand with the party's troubled workers under any circumstances. Majumdar Bangaon is a BJP MLA from the south.
Majumdar can be heard speaking to his reporters at a party meeting in the video, "If a TMC leader implicates our workers in a false case if he terrorises our workers, the leader cannot return safely. That's all. Break his hands and feet in self-defence and come to me. I promise to stand by you.''
Reacting to Majumdar's alleged remarks, TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh claimed that it shows the mindset and culture of BJP leaders. "We strongly condemn such language, words and threats.'' Frustrated by the popularity of Trinamool Congress in the region, he is making such threats. BJP state president Sukant Majumdar said his party does not believe in the politics of violence.
