The BJP on Saturday rejected Congress' allegations of covering up the alleged Bitcoin scam and said there was no scam. Bengaluru police have also dismissed allegations of any discrepancy in the investigation of the case. BJP's Karnataka unit spokesperson Ganesh Karnik said in a statement that there has been no scam. "So any question of anyone being involved in this scam is a distorted fantasy," he explained.

Congress leaders have alleged that the involvement of "influential leaders" in the scam has come to light after officials recovered bitcoin worth 9 crore rupees from Srikrishna alias Sriki, a city hacker. The hackers are also facing several other charges including hacking government portals. The BJP leader responded to the same allegations of Congress. Significantly, Bitcoin is one of the world's leading cryptocurrencies (a type of digital currency).

Meanwhile, Bengaluru Police issued a statement stating that the Central Crime Branch has investigated the case in a "fair and professional manner." Police said, "It is strongly stated that such misleading statements are being issued on the basis of incomplete/distorted facts. All such statements are strongly denied.'' He explained, "No Bitcoin was transferred from the account of hackers Sri Krishna nor did any bitcoin disappear.''
