Kolkata: TheMumbai division of West Railways has achieved a major milestone in ticket checking. Western Railway has collected a fine of Rs 12.24 crore from the ticket checking drive in the month of May. According to the Western Railway, this is a new record since the establishment of the Mumbai Central Division. Sumit Thakur, chief public relations officer of the Mumbai division of western railway, said that a regular ticket checking drive is being carried out to curb unauthorized travel.

He said that the mumbai division has a record performance of recovery so far since the division was established. The Western Railway has made history. According to the Railways, this is the highest amount collected by the Indian Railways in the month of May, which is an achievement similar to the milestone. Because it is 871% higher than the target of 1.26 crore set for the month of May 2022, which is an incredible increase. At the same time, the current penalty collected is 30% more than the previous best record of Rs 9.4 crore.

He said the total revenue for the months of April and May 2022 stood at Rs 21.65 crore, which is 821% higher than the cumulative revenue of Rs 2.35 crore last year. Which is once again the highest ever revenue. The total cumulative revenue for both the months is also 622% higher than the cumulative target of Rs 3 crore.
