Indian Railways' Western Railway Mumbai Division has announced a Jumbo block scheduled for 30th July on the Down Slow lines, specifically between Marine Lines and Mahim stations. This block is crucial as it allows for essential maintenance work on the tracks, signaling systems, and overhead equipment, ensuring the overall safety and upkeep of the infrastructure.

The Jumbo block is planned to take place for a duration of five hours, starting at 10:35 am and ending at 3:35 pm. During this period, all the DOWN local lines between Marine Lines and Mahim Jn will be rerouted to the DOWN Fast Lines. As a result of this rerouting, some changes in train stops will occur: Mahalaxmi, Prabhadevi, and Matunga Road will not be served, while there will be a double halt at Lower Parel and Mahim stations.

Passengers traveling between Mahim and Mumbai Central station will need to consider the altered route due to the block. Additionally, please be aware that a few suburban trains will be canceled during this period.

In addition to the Jumbo block on the Western Railway, there is also a mega block scheduled on the Central Railways for tomorrow. This mega block will affect the Thane-Kalyan 5th and 6th lines from 9 am to 1 pm. On the Harbour line, a separate mega block is planned on the Panvel-Vashi UP and DOWN line from 11 am to 4 pm.

Notably, a recent incident caused delays on the Western Railway network. Ten long-distance and twenty suburban trains faced delays when several core signaling cables were damaged during civil work at Virar station in the neighboring Palghar district. This resulted in non-functioning points and signals at the site.

Due to the incident, the following trains have been canceled or rescheduled: Train 19002 (Surat-Virar) and Train 09089 (Virar-Sanjan) on 29/07/23 have been canceled due to point failure on the Virar North section. Railway authorities are working diligently to restore normal operations as soon as possible.
