So far, 12 devotees, including three women, have been killed in a cloudburst near Baba Barfani cave in Amarnath. Not only this but 35-40 devotees are still stranded. Let me also tell you all that this incident happened at 5.30 pm on Friday. At the same time, when the cloudburst took place, there were 10 to 15 thousand devotees near the cave. However, at present, NDRF along with the army is engaged in the rescue operation. Now today we tell you what is cloudburst and why do such incidents take place only in hilly areas?

What is cloud burst?- If we consider meteorologists when a lot of water suddenly falls in one place, it is called a cloud burst. Yes and in simple language, if the pin is pricked in a balloon full of water, then all its water will fall at a speed in one place. Yes and in the same way, when the clouds drop a lot of water in one place, it is called the burst of the cloud.

Why do cloudbursts occur?- In fact, when the vapour rises from the sea, it has a lot of moisture. In such a situation, many times the clouds with high humidity stop in the high and hilly areas. At the same time, due to the height of the mountains, they are not able to move much further and due to this, there are cloud bursts in the high-altitude areas, which cause rain in the same place at the speed of 100 mm per hour. Apart from this, due to cloudbursts and heavy rain on the mountains, the water brings with it pieces of soil, mud and stones, flowing with it rapidly and in such a situation, everything that comes in front of it is finished.
