Meena Kumari was one of the most famous actresses of Hindi cinema. She started working in films at a very young age and soon reached the heights of fame. She got married at a young age and said goodbye to this world at a young age.

Meena Kumari was born in a Muslim family and her real name was Mehjabeen Bano. She married filmmaker Kamal Amrohi, but later they got divorced. Then both of them got married again, but in the meantime Meena Kumari had to go through a painful process called Halala. She herself said that she had to give away her body in the name of religion. This Halala was done with Aman Ullah Khan, father of famous actress Zeenat Aman.

Marriage to Kamal Amrohi at the age of 19: Meena Kumari was born on 1 August 1933 in Mumbai. When she was 19 years old, she married filmmaker Kamal Amrohi. However, they later got divorced. After the divorce, the two came close to each other again and got married again. But according to Muslim religion, before remarriage, Meena had to go through Halala, which was an extremely painful experience for her.

Halala with Zeenat Aman's father: Meena Kumari had a halala with Zeenat Aman's father Aman Ullah Khan. Under the process of halala, a woman has to first marry another man and then divorce him in order to remarry her ex-husband. Similarly, Meena Kumari married Aman Ullah Khan, had a relationship with him, and then divorced him and remarried Kamal Amrohi.

Meena's pain: "What is the difference between me and a prostitute?": After halala, Meena Kumari was in deep pain. She had said, "What is the difference between me and a prostitute?" This pain is also recorded in the biography written on her life, in which she had said, "What kind of life is this, where I had to give away my body in the name of religion. If this happened to me, then what is the difference between me and a prostitute?" Meena Kumari died at the age of 39 in 1972.
