New Delhi: The new-generation Mahindra Thar off-road, which was introduced in 2020, is generating sales for the country's domestic automaker.

While the current model has three doors and four seats, the company will soon introduce a five-door version which is currently in testing. According to rumours, the 5-door Mahindra Thar will be unveiled to the general public at the 2023 Delhi Auto Expo before going on sale.

While the 2-door Thar tends to attract individual buyers as a lifestyle vehicle, the new 5-door model will focus on customers who require a more practical yet tough SUV.

Its rear seat will be more spacious, and the "breakover" angle can be reduced. There is a chance that the SUV will get completely new body panels.

Most of its features and design will be similar to that of the 2-door Thar. Its prominent wheel arches, high mounted stop lamps, square LED taillamps and tailgate-mounted spare wheel are some of its salient features.
