The Alto, a popular hatchback, now has a lookalike. Mazda has unveiled the new Carol hatchback, which is just a rebadged version of the current generation Alto. In Japan, the hatchback will be available to buy. The Mazda Carol arrives around a month after the Suzuki Alto's latest generation made its debut. Except for the badges and a little of chrome treatment on the Alto's bonnet, these automobiles are identical.

Alto's twin Mazda Carol is based on Suzuki's Heartect platform and measures 3395 mm in length, 1475 mm in width, and 1525 mm in height. It has a 2460 mm wheelbase. In comparison, the current generation Alto has a height of 1525 mm, which is 50 mm higher than the previous model. The new Alto's length is 3395 mm and its breadth is 1475 mm, which are similar to those of the previous model.

The Alto's twin is powered by a 660cc three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 48 horsepower. A mild-hybrid version is also available, which includes an inline 2.5 hp starter generator (ISG) and a lithium-ion battery. The Carol is capable of producing 64 horsepower when used together.

Suzuki has yet to divulge details regarding the new Alto's engine or performance. It will, however, most likely be fitted with a mild-hybrid engine and an electronic Safety Support complex that incorporates autonomous braking and lane-keeping assist technologies.

The Mazda Carol's interior differs somewhat from that of the new Suzuki Alto. The height has been increased by 45 mm, and the breadth has been extended by 25 mm, making it a little more roomy. Carol has six airbags and many ADAS technologies, including twin camera braking assist, lane departure warning, high beam assist, and brake help while reversing.
