USA: Instant messaging service WhatsApp is currently working on a new update that will enable users to send messages on their chats. According to reports, the Meta-owned platform is developing several new features to roll out, including the ability to forward media with captions and a new blur tool for WhatsApp's desktop app.

A report by WABetaInfo claims that WhatsApp has started testing a new function called "Message with Yourself", which will allow users to send messages to themselves in private chats. This function will work just like texting someone from your WhatsApp contacts list.

As per the screenshot accompanying the report, to start a conversation with yourself on WhatsApp, you first need to select the "New Chat" button located in the top right corner of the app.

After the "New Group," "New Contact," and "New Community" options, you'll be taken to your WhatsApp contact list in alphabetical order.

According to the screenshot included with the report, to start a conversation with yourself on WhatsApp, first click on the 'New Chat' button located in the top right corner of the app.

You will then be taken to your WhatsApp contact list in alphabetical order, followed by 'New Group,' 'New Contact' and 'New Community' options.

There will also be a list of 'contacts on WhatsApp' starting with me (you). Tap that option to open a new chat with the subject text 'Me (you)' and message yourself below it.

This is your personal WhatsApp conversation with you. As per the report, the new feature is being tested on WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS by a small group of beta testers.

In addition, WhatsApp is working on a new update that will enable users to set profile photos for individual contacts in group chats, which will be displayed when the individual sends a message to the group.

If a member does not have a profile picture or cannot be seen due to privacy settings, the default profile icon on WhatsApp will appear inside a group chat next to the person's message.
