The messaging platform WhatsApp is rolling out the new feature for its users. This feature will let users know that a received message has been forwarded several times. The new feature will be available to users on the platforms offering Android and iOS. The Facebook team has been working on this feature for a long time and is treating the new feature as a 'how to mark viral content'. This way users will know that the message they receive is a viral message and has been forwarded several times. Let's know the full details

In a statement, WhatsApp Spokesperson said, "We have recently updated our forwarded message label, which will let users know that they have already received forwarded messages several times and that such chain messages are very much forwarded to the platform. Sometimes forwarded messages will be marked with a double arrow icon and users will see a notice when forwarding such messages.' Double arrow mark will appear on messages that will be forwarded more than five times.

For your information, WhatsApp will not tell users how many times the message is forwarded and that the company says that the number of times the message is forwarded is end-to-end encrypted. WhatsApp says that in addition, long text messages will have small receipts on the app and you'll need to tap see more to see the entire message. This way, long messages in group chats will not disturb users and the entire chat will not be full. The Frequently Forwarded feature is intended to rein in rumors and fake messages. The social media platform was heavily criticized last year after the country's lynching incidents, after which the company announced a new feature for users. The feature was first spotted in the beta version in March this year. Apart from this, WhatsApp has also announced to launch its payment service WhatsApp Pay in India soon.
