USA: According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is developing a new feature called "Chat Transfer" for Android. The add-on is currently being built.

It will soon be made available to a small group of Android beta users in an upcoming app update, with a wider release later. Users will be able to transfer their chat history to a new Android device without using Google Drive for this feature.

It has never been easier for WhatsApp users to move data between devices. To access this data, users must first back up their current data to Google Drive and then connect their new device to their Gmail account.

The latest version of WhatsApp beta for Android with firmware version number (2.23.2.6) on Play Store, includes the new add-on. There's no timetable yet for a wider rollout. By making it easy to transfer chats to a new handset, "Chat Transfer" will enable faster migration.
