WASHINGTON: The Russian invasion of Ukraine and Indian limits on wheat exports will be among the topics discussed at the next Quad conference in Tokyo next week, as well as the bilateral meeting between US President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to the US.

On Tuesday in Tokyo, Modi and Biden will meet with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Australia's newly elected Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, for the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue's second in-person meeting.

In a briefing with reporters travelling with Biden from South Korea to Japan on the second part of his first trip to Asia as President, US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan confirmed that the two leaders will meet bilaterally.

On the Russian invasion of Ukraine, India and the United States have not been on the same page. Despite continuous pressure from the US and others, including the UK, which had come to Ukraine's aid with money and weaponry with the claimed intention of driving back Russian President Vladimir Putin's troops, New Delhi has not condemned the invasion.

When President Biden and Prime Minister Modi met digitally in March for a Quad meeting, the subject was handled at the highest level. They talked about it again in a short video conversation in April, which began off the 2+2 ministerial dialogue. They will talk about it again.
