Amitabh Bachchan needs no introduction.  He is popularly known as Big B. Amitabh had worked in various movies and the actor enjoyed a massive fan following. In 1982 Big B was shooting for Coolie with Puneet Issar when he mistimed a jump and was grievously hurt. He was rushed to St. Philomena’s Hospital in an unconscious state with his life hanging in balance. He was flown to Mumbai and was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital.  Amitabh underwent several surgeries and remained critically ill in hospital for several months even as a nation prayed for its screen icon. August 2 is considered his second birthday by his fans.

At the time of accident, a team of doctors had declared Amitabh clinically dead.  When the Bachchan family had come to the famous show 'Rendezvous with Simi Garewal'  by actress Simi Grewal. During this, Simi took the reaction from the Bachchan family on this accident. Jaya Bachchan had told during this that Abhishek Bachchan was only 6 years old at that time and he had a big attack of asthma. Jaya says I later came to know that Abhishek was told by a child of his class that your father will not survive!. Hearing this, Abhishek's health had deteriorated.

According to Jaya, the doctors had told her clearly that now only Dua can save Amitabh. According to Jaya, She had Hanuman Chalisa in her hand, she saw that doctors were pumping Amitabh's heart, while injections were also being given to him. Jaya says, 'When the doctors lost everything, I saw Amitabh move his toe, which I screamed loudly, he moved his thumb!!'. After this Big B's health started improving and the actor's condition started improving.

Amitabh Bachchan is famous for his singing, dancing, and comedy. His most notable films included the crime drama Agneepath (1990); Black (2005), the drama Paa (2009); the comedy Piku (2015), and the crime movie Badla (2019). After a brief stint in politics in the mid 1980s, Bachchan gained a new generation of fans in 2000–06 as host of the television game show Kaun Banega crorepati.
