He was born on the night of Shivaratri. Darshan completed his education in Mysore, and he completed his acting studies in Ninasam, a theatre training institute in Shimoga. Divya and Dinakar are brothers of Darshan.  He remained in news for his personal and professional life. The actor recently promoted the upcoming film 'Kranti' and slippers were thrown at him publicly.

Which people have called sexist and anti-women. Darshan has said, "Goddess of fortune doesn't always knock at the door. When she knocks, grab her, drag her to your bedroom and strip her. If you give her clothes, She'll go out."

On the work front, Darshan made his lead debut from the movie ‘Majestic’. Darshan starred in films like 'Ayya', 'Mandya', 'Gaja', 'Sarathi', 'Bulbul', 'Brindavana', 'Ambarish' and in 2012 acted in the historical film 'Kranti Veera Sangolli Rayanna'. The film won the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actor. Darshan played Duryodhana in his 50th film 'Kurukshetra', and he is currently busy with ‘Robert’ and another historical movie ‘RajaVeera.
