Rewa: The police have busted a gang that has been spreading fear by continuously planting dummy bombs in Rewa, MP, for the past few days. Among the arrested criminals is an engineer who started spreading panic after leaving his job. SP Navneet Bhasin said that the culprit is of the crazy type and has created panic by planting dummy bombs 13 times from train to highway in six years. Recently, he had spread fear by planting several dummy bombs in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

The SP also said that for the past few days in Rewa district, fear was being spread by placing dummy bombs on the national highway continuously, after which the police identified the culprits on the basis of CCTV cameras installed in the highway and toll plazas. The criminals have confessed to their crimes. The police are also matching the handwriting of letters received with the dummy bombs. 

The same SP Navneet Bhasin said that the main culprit of the gang was a mechanical engineer from Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, who used to do a private job. But in 2015, he lost his job. Because he had epileptic seizures. Apart from this, the other criminal is a resident of Meerut, who has done LLB. The third criminal is also a resident of Meerut. According to the SP, in the interrogation, he has said that these people wanted to put forth their side of the story about corruption and filth in the society and said that doing so would give more impetus to their point. The material for making dummy bombs has also been seized from the possession of criminals. Electronic circuits, motherboards, paints, tapes, aluminium wires, electronic watches have been recovered from their possession.
