In Hindu mythology, Hanuman, the son of the wind god Pawan, is revered as the deity of Kali Yuga, the current age according to Hindu cosmology. Legends speak of Hanuman receiving the boon of immortality from Mother Sita, which allows him to dwell on Earth even in this era.
Hanuman's residence in Kali Yuga is a subject of widespread belief and reverence. According to scriptures, Hanuman is said to reside atop the Gandhamadana mountain. Located north of Mount Kailash, Gandhamadana was a site where Hanuman once intercepted Bhima during the Mahabharata era.
Another account places Hanuman's abode at the Anjani mountain in Kishkindha. This mountain is where Mata Anjani performed intense penance to be blessed with Hanuman as her son. It is also where Lord Rama first encountered Hanuman, solidifying its significance in Hanuman's lore.
Devotees often recite Hanuman's mantra to invoke his protection and blessings, recognizing him as an embodiment of strength and devotion:
"Om Namo Hanumate Rudravataraya Vishwaroopaya Amit Vikramaya manifest-powerful Mahabalaya Suryakotisamprabhaaya Ramdootaaya Swaaha. Vayuputra! I bow to you Pushpam Sauvarnakam Priyam | Worshipping you with the nine gems – Samujjalam ||"
