New Delhi: A new player has entered the smartphone market with the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. A premium leather finish, a camera module with great sensors, robust hardware, up to 1TB of storage, and other features are included with the device.

The device aims to compete with premium models such as the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra in several ways. But can it really compete with Samsung's model?

Both the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and the Xiaomi 13 Ultra have curved sides and a top-centred punch-hole. Each of them houses an optical, under-display and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. Additionally, the Samsung model is stylus compatible.

While the Galaxy S23 Ultra has a glass back, the 13 Ultra has a leather back. The Galaxy S23 Ultra is slightly thinner (8.9mm) than the 13 Ultra (9.06mm). Each of them weighs 233g and 227g.

Xiaomi 13 Ultra flaunts a 6.7-inch QHD+ (1440x3200 pixels) C7 LTPO 3.0 AMOLED screen with support for Dolby Vision and can refresh up to 120Hz.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra flaunts a 6.8-inch QHD+ (1440x3088 pixels) Dynamic AMOLED 2x panel with a refresh rate of 1-120Hz. There is HDR10+ support. Unlike the Galaxy S23 Ultra, the 13 Ultra has higher peak brightness (2,600 versus 1,750 nits).

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra houses a circular island designed by LEICA that houses a 50.3MP (OIS) 1.0-inch main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor, a 50MP (OIS) telephoto sensor, a 50MP (OIS, 5x) periscope sensor, and A ToF 3D sensor.

200MP (OIS) main camera, 12MP ultra-wide, 10MP (OIS) portrait, and 10MP (OIS) periscope camera with 10x optical zoom, all placed vertically on the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. Each of them houses a 32MP and a 12MP selfie camera.

Along with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC powers the Xiaomi 13 Ultra and the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. The Galaxy S23 Ultra is available in 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB and 12GB/1TB configurations, while the 13 Ultra is available in 12GB/256GB, 16GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB models. They both start booting Android 13 with MIUI 14 and One UI 5.1, respectively.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and Xiaomi 13 Ultra include 5,000mAh batteries. 90W wired, 50W wireless, and 10W reverse wireless charging are all supported by the 13 Ultra.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra, on the other hand, supports 45W wired, 15W wireless, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging. Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, and Type-C connectivity are all provided by the gadget.

Starting at CNY 5,999 (roughly Rs. 71,600), the Xiaomi 13 Ultra comes in 12GB / 256GB configuration. But the 16GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB models are priced at CNY 6,499 and CNY 7,299 (roughly Rs. 77,550 and Rs. 87,100), respectively.

The 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, and 12GB/1TB versions of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra are priced at Rs. 1,24,999, Rs. 1,34,999, and Rs. 1,54,999 respectively.

Xiaomi is being praised for not compromising on any feature in the premium 13 Ultra. The phone features a rugged hardware setup, a high-resolution, energy-efficient display, top-notch cameras, quick wired and wireless charging, and the latest connectivity standards.

However, the 13 Ultra is currently only available in China. The customers are thus limited to Samsung's Galaxy S23 Ultra in the international markets.
