New Delhi: On the occasion of Constitution Day celebrations, President Ram Nath Kovind will lead the function on Friday with a preamble reading in the Central Hall of Parliament, where PM Narendra Modi will address a special gathering. President Kovind will address the nation in a speech, after which people will participate in the reading session of the Preamble to the Constitution with him. According to a statement by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the President will also release a digital version of the Constituent Assembly debate in the Central Hall of Parliament House.

PM Modi will also inaugurate the two-day Constitution Day celebrations at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi and attend related events. Meanwhile, several opposition parties, including Congress, have boycotted the event. The BJP has attacked other parties, including Congress after opposition parties distanced themselves from the programme. 14 parties including Congress, Left Party, Trinamool Congress (TMC), RJD, Shiv Sena, NCP, SP, IUML and DMK are boycotting the Constitution Day celebrations to be held in the Central Hall of Parliament today.

Meanwhile, veteran BJP leader and Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal has said that the boycott of constitution day celebrations in Parliament by Congress and 14 opposition parties is a contempt for the constitution of the country. This proves that Congress can only respect the leaders of the Nehru family, while not any other leader, including BR Ambedkar. These opposition parties often oppose the actions and policies of the Modi government and call them unconstitutional and call themselves defenders of the Constitution, so boycotting the Constituent Assembly on Constitution Day itself definitely raises questions about them.
